Jordan Hashemite Fund for Human Development (JOHUD) – The Jordanian National Commission for Women in the year 2019 contracted PRAVO® company to conduct a Participatory Gender Audit for several labor and professional unions, within the project of <<empowering women for leadership in labor and professional unions and political parties in Jordan>>. As per this contract agreement, PRAVO® had prepared a detailed work plan to conduct the participatory audit on gender equality for six unions (three trade unions and three professional unions), prepared corrective plans based on the recommendations of the reports, conducted the stages of participatory audit in accordance with the International Labor Organization (ILO) methodology, including: audited the extent of awareness of female and male managers, officials and employees about issues of gender equality and the extent to which this awareness is reflected in the planning and program processes and their implementation within the targeted unions; identified the existing gaps that prevent the achievement of gender equality in general, and hinder the empowerment of women in particular in decision-making positions; identified the structural factors that hinder achieving the goal of gender equality (such as lack of experience and competencies, lack of funding, lack of capabilities, lack of trained staff, etc.); documented good practices towards institutionalizing gender equality, and making them essential by institutionalizing them in the culture of the institution under audit (evaluation); proposed procedures, changes and reforms related to administrative systems, decision-making and employment on the one hand, and programs, implementing and supporting them on the other hand, with the aim of achieving gender equality; and prepared corrective plans to implement the results of the gender audit process, by acting on the basis of the potential areas of action identified by the recommendations.
